The cloak includes one stripe for every Endangered, Threatened and Special Concern species on the Connecticut state list. The resulting stripes fill fifty-five feet of paper. The paintings are organized by taxonomic groups; all birds together, all plants together. The painted stripes, cut into strips create a fringe, in a flattened hoop skirt.
